Description

This course will introduce candidates to the theory and practice of career counseling, the administration and interpretation of selected inventories, the career counseling process, available career resources, and the ethical and practice standards related to career counseling in school settings. Particular focus will be placed on the career development process of students in grades K-12 and the school counselor’s role in providing developmentally appropriate career development services. As part of this course, issues related to working with diverse populations, (gender, race, culture, ability, and sexual orientation) will be explored.
