Description

This course covers the principles of assessment methods used in school counseling. There will be a review of basic statistical concepts and educational measurement. The course will survey cognitive, personality, career and educational tests. Assessment and evaluation methods specific to education and to school counseling will be covered. Ecological assessment and program evaluation will be addressed. Critical issues will include factors of culture, gender, linguistic diversity, ethnicity, age, disability, and examiner bias. Candidates seeking the Bilingual Extension in SC will complete required assignments with a focus on linguistically diverse learners.
