All students in the School of Education must complete a clinical component to graduate and become certified in their discipline. Each program has specific expectations and requirements based on the specifications established by the New York State Department of Education. The clinical component includes time spent in schools, libraries, or mental-health facilities working with children and professionals in a given field of study. To learn more about the specific requirements for your program, contact the program leadership. Requirements for participation in clinical experiences can include fingerprint clearance, prerequisite courses, course GPAs, and/or permission from the program leadership.
