Not open to students who are taking or have received credit for MATH 318. The course is an exploration of Euclid’s fifth postulate, often referred to as the parallel postulate. Development of the basics of Euclidean geometry with a focus on understanding the role of the fifth postulate. Development and exploration of hyperbolic geometry, a non-Euclidean geometry.Prereq.: One course in Multivariable Calculus.
