Introduces students to English history from the Tudors through the Stuart dynasty, including the rule of Oliver Cromwell, and the Restoration of Charles II. Special focus will be given to politics, religion, society, and civil war; to England’s fraught relationship with Ireland and Scotland; and to present-day debates about this important historical period.
