Elective course in the Family and Community Studies Specialty. Examines survival skills from a pedagogical perspective of the kind of information children need, a developmental perspective of how children of different ages handle the information offered, and a diagnostic perspective of the risk factors and symptomatic behaviors of children in difficulty. Particular attention paid to questions of home-school domain, cultural differences, and family privacy.
