This course is designed to address the multifaceted dimensions of teaching and learning in a rapidly changing, highly diverse society. Participants review research and theoretical literature in the fields of culture and cognition as they relate to educational practice. Included are traditional elements of culture such as ethnicity, language, and religion as well as less traditional elements of cultural diversity such as age, gender, sexual orientation, social class, and physical disability.
