Teaching Science in the Elementary School

Description

Required course in the Science Education Specialty. This course emphasizes the selection, organization, and effective use of science materials in the elementary school. Important concepts will be drawn from the various sciences and include: populations and ecosystems, diversity and adaptations of organisms, structure and function in living systems, regulation and behavior, motions and forces, transfer of energy, and properties and changes of properties in matter. State and national standards in elementary school science will also be addressed, including the uses of technology to enhance science instruction.
