Highlighting the ongoing interplay between cognition, language, affect and social functioning, students examine individual differences in abilities, learning styles, and academic performance, with attention to ecologically valid assessment strategies for linguistically and culturally diverse populations. Students explore the impact of family dysfunction, stress, poverty, and violence on development and academic performance.
