The course surveys data practices and services of various disciplines and research teams and the theoretical and practical problems in data curation. It introduces students to the fundamentals of data structures and to the life cycle of data. Data management and curation practices in research environments, libraries, archives, and institutional repositories are included, as well as the technical standards for data and metadata.
