A survey of the Spanish Theater of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The development of a national theater will be explored from the turn of the Sixteenth Century (Encina) to Calderón. Although the focus of the course will be the Comedia nueva, other genres will include the Egloga, Auto sacramental, Farsa and Entremés.
