This course will analyze how the US criminal justice system has impacted on the use of drugs and treatment for drug abuse. It will examine how the Federal, State and local police organizations plan, implement, and coordinate policies and procedures for combating the use of illegal drug. It will focus in particular on the "War on Drugs." The New York State Penal Laws (Rockefeller Drug) laws will be discussed in depth.
