Description

This course will focus on strategies and methods for evaluating policies and programs of government agencies and nonprofit social service organizations. It covers the major elements of evaluation research, including evaluation goal setting, outcome measures, research design, policy significance, and the politics of evaluation. Students will review and analyze evaluation research studies drawn from several public policy areas including education, public assistance, health services, criminal justice, housing, and employment training. No formal prerequisite; URBST 725 recommended.
