This course introduces students to the range of methodological approaches used in urban-related research. These include macroscopic analysis, demography, survey research, historical research, participant observation, community studies, institutional analysis, policy analysis, and evaluation research. Emphasis is placed on the development of critical skills in reading, interpreting, and analyzing social science research, whether this research is encountered in textbooks and lectures, in professional journals, or in the popular media.Spring
