Description

The course will examine different aspects of Hispanic cinema and its relationship to literature. The course will examine different aspects of the cinematic art. The approaches include: (1) Movements (neo-realism, new wave, etc.); (2) Genres; (3) Literature into films; (4) The cinema as a sociocultural phenomenon; (5) Cinematic stylists. Films will be shown in the original language. Students will be expected to produce substantial works of film analysis.
