The course examines the cultural change from Dictatorship to Democracy in Spain, and how literary practice can defend an ethical conscience based on a critical individualism against the tendency to homogenize, force consensus and relinquish independence. Works read might include: Luis Goytisolo, Antonio Muñoz Molina, Lourdes Ortiz, Esther Tusquets, Manuel Vázquez Montalbán, Lucía Etxebarría, Fernando Savater, etc.
