In this course we will discuss responses of different governments around the world to common educational problems such as governance, financing, and provisions of mass education. We will also consider the equality of educational opportunity and outcome for differently situated social groups, especially those traditionally marginalized: women, ethnic minorities, rural populations, and working class.
