The theory of X-ray diffraction and its application to the study of the structure of matter. Topics to be considered will include the physics of X-rays, the geometry of crystals and of X-ray reflections, the theory of X-ray diffraction, techniques for the production and interpretation of X-ray diffraction data, and crystal structure determination.
