The Art and Technique of Storytelling

Elective course within the Children's Literature Specialty and the Language and Literacy Specialty. Students critically examine stories and storytelling traditions from a variety of cultures as they develop a repertoire of stories to use in culturally and linguistically diverse classrooms. They practice methods and procedures in storytelling, explore ways to integrate storytelling into the curriculum and to use storytelling in promoting and developing literacy.
